Five Minutes

What is the saying? That everybody gets 15 minutes of fame in their lifetime? Well, this is probably about five of mine. I submitted a couple of pictures to Roadtrip America (which I would describe as an online travel magazine) for their 'Funny Signs!' feature. One of them is this week's sign. I took it over a year ago in the Everglades and thought the sign was pretty funny by itself, but be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the picture.

It's at http://www.roadtripamerica.com/signs/signs.htm

  2. Great picture.
I started following Mark, Megan and Marvin's adventures back in 1996 when their house burned down in southern California and they hit the road. I lost track of them. Glad to see your picture, and find the 3 M's again.

  3. That's hysterical! Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Or did you stand there for days waiting for the right picture?

  5. I was on a boat tour - I think it was actually the same one that you and I did years ago, Diana. Of course my first thought was, "How much do they pay that alligator to lie there?"

  6. BTW, as Sally said, Mark and Megan's house was a victim of a California wildfire. Instead of letting that event make them into victims, they saw it as an opportunity to change their lives and go on the road. Megan has written a book on their journey both physically and mentally. The first compelling chapter is posted on Roadtrip America - click here
