Ron took this picture of the local residents through the front windshield. I only had to clone out one bug splat.

Yesterday Diana took us for a drive. She always knows the best places for pictures and we found fields of poppies on nearby hillsides.



Here are a couple of closer shots. They seem to be more of a gold color when they first open and fade to yellow with age.

And here it is. At least it might be. I downloaded both our pictures and mixed them up. He found one of the few lupine mixed in with the poppies.

Definitely one of my favorite spots! I'll be sorry to leave.
