Goblin Valley SP

One evening we went to see the goblins. Goblin Valley State Park is a very unusual place and the evening sun brings out the distinctive red color of the Entrada sandstone. It does cost $7 per car to view this spectacle, but I think it's worth it.

From the overlook you can see all the little goblins running over the valley floor.

I appreciate that you can walk down and wander among the formations.

From this angle, I think they look more like mushrooms - others have different opinions.

The hard sandstone 'caps' are held up with softer siltstone which gradually wears away.

From all the ones we saw that have fallen, I'm surprised there are still any goblins left. Better hurry before they're all gone!

Hey! A giant turtle!

Ron found this tank . . .

And this duck. For an electrician, he certainly has a good imagination.

  4. As fragile as they are, I was surprised they still let you walk down among them. Great shots!
