(Lincoln Memorial from the base of the Washington Monument. Taken in 2007 during our tour around the southern, eastern, and northern perimeter of the United States.)
I spent the 4th on the Mall one year when we lived in that area. It was 100 degrees and must have been a million people. Thought I was going to die. Needless to say I didn't do it again. But being in D.C. is an incredible time no matter when you're there.
Belated Happy 4th. That's a well-remembered scene from our days in the DC area.

ReplyDeleteNice photo. We lived near there but didn't realize they upgraded the area near the flagpoles with nice benches.
ReplyDeleteThey did a nice job of refurbishing the area around the Washington Monument, but they removed a large, free parking area.
ReplyDeleteI guess that is progress... :c(
Hope you had a happy 4th. We worked, then it rained.
ReplyDeleteSo, where are you now?
