Sawtooth NRA (part 2)

One day we decided to hike the Alpine Creek Trail.  To get to the trailhead, we drove across a bridge over the creek that flows from the larger Alturas Lake to the smaller Perkin's Lake where we were staying.

As we drove along the shoreline, I was surprised at how still the lake appeared and had to stop for a reflection picture.

The deer seem pretty tame here.  This mule deer walked right in front of us.  Just look at those ears!

For the first mile, the Alpine Creek Trail just went through the woods and I was beginning to despair of seeing any nice views.  But wait!  What is that through the trees?

Ah, that's more like it.  The trail description talked about an alpine meadow.

Other direction.  Nice.

With the trail beginning above 7000 feet, we were ready to turn around at that point.  Surprisingly, there were some views going down, I just never turned around on the way up.  LOL
